.3.liters.of.water.a.day.

That’s how much water I need to drink each day, in order to be properly hydrated for training. I actually think I need to drink more. I think 3 liters is what I should drink if I were just working out regularly, but not necessarily training for the marathon. So I have my bucktown 5K 1 Liter bottle with me at work. I’m constantly drinking from it and have already drank over 700 mL this morning. I should just plan to drink 1 liter in the morning, 1 liter in the afternoon, then 1 liter at home. And don’t worry, I won’t develop hyponatremia. I’m sure I’ll get sick of this bland taste and mix it up with some crystal light lemonade. Mmm mmm good.

This week is week 11 out of 18 in my training. My weekend long runs haven’t been going too well, but that’s because I’m not resting and/or hydrating properly during the week. So I end up tired and slightly dehydrated during the weekend. This week, I’m planning on not going out as much, drinking a lot more water/crystal light, so I’ll be prepared for 16 miles this weekend…time to turn it up!

.update.on.the.last.1.5.months.

so yes, i've been on hiatus. i've actually been really busy this whole time.

i know you're all dying to hear the secret news that i had earlier...right?? well, it was that i got a new job. and i had to wait a lil while before i could give my 2 weeks notice since my start date wasn't until the end of july. but i made it. and i updated all the documentation that was required before i left. so i felt good about leaving. it was really sad, and i'll miss most of the people i was around. but it was time to go. it was so easy to be viewed as a superstar employee there, and i needed something more...something they couldn't give me. i was so relaxed over there, pretty much lazy. i had no challenge; at least a challenge that i thought would help me in the long run. i just didn't want to take it anymore. so i left. they counter-offered, and i almost couldn't pass it up. but i did. because that only would have satisfied me for a few months, but i would have been in the exact same position as i was in june.

my new company, and really my new group is full of ex-consultants. they all have this go-getter attitude. and work their asses off, always striving to add value wherever they go. it's great. surprisingly. i now have to work so much harder now to be viewed as a top performer. which is what i think i needed. things may move really slow here, but it's ok. at least for now. i know i can take these experiences with me wherever i go. every place i've been to, no matter how much i end up hating it at the end, always gives me something i can take with me and learn from.

so i work at this company where i know so many random people in different groups. that's kinda cool. the worst thing about this new place though, is that it's like a vault. no external emails access, no external IMs. i feel like i'm in a cage, like a dog...

speaking of dogs, we've decided to get a puggle. my ex-coworker got a puggle, and after seeing pictures and researching, i think this is the dog for us. it gets really lonely sometimes when a travels, that i told him i'd like to have a dog around for some company. i know it'll be hard work, esp that first month, but it's ok. i've accepted that it will be hard, so i don't need to keep hearing it...the goal date is after hawaii, which is after the marathon.

speaking of marathon, i'm outting myself now. i've decided to run the marathon again (chicago). i didn't want to tell too many people for fear that i'd get injured again, but this is the 1/2 way mark with training, and i'm cautiously optomistic that i can finish this one too. i just need to keep up with the runs, and figure out a way to do those mid-week-sorta-long-runs. i'm following higdon's novice training program...curious to see what it's like? click here .

so that's the quick 2 minute update on me.

anyone still read this thing??
