.good.tv.

ever watch those old tv shows that you haven't seen in a while, and when you watch a particularly touching scene, your emotions get all riled up as much as it did during the first time you saw it? that's what happened tonight. i love this show.

speaking of shows, anyone watching desperate housewives? it's basically 'sex and the city' after they get married. well...not really. but it fulfills that void left by sex and the city. it's fresh, new and everything by which women want to be entertained. seriously, it's a good show. watch it. sunday nights at 8PM CST on ABC. and the gardener boy is hot as hell.

i'm only up late tonight because i was finishing up my self-evaluation. and i also finished feedback for 3 other co-workers. i really hate this process. it's not like we have time to do this every year. but if i'm going to fill these out, i don't want to be half-assed about it. i'll be so happy when i'm done with my last one, later this week. hopefully i don't get any more in my inbox.

man, it's late. but i can never seem to sleep early without A here. *sigh*

can you believe it's the last week in october already?? i really need to get this wedding planning thing going. oh, and i also need to go to the north face tomorrow to try on boarding pants. maybe while i'm there i can go to the verizon store to see what phones i might be able to get. i'm thinking about starting to read lovely bones this week too. i have to read that before i buy any more books. has anyone read anna karenina?? is it worth the read? if not that book, i'm thinking of buying i know this much is true by wally lamb.

anyways, i guess i need to go to sleep now. it's late. but i'll be crabby tomorrow morning anyways, so i guess it doesn't matter. maybe i'm awake because of that chai i had tonight at borders.

read up this week, so you can make an informed decision next week! it's election time!

.it's over.

i can't believe it's over! and i did it! i actually ran the marathon. i remember last year, watching archie, richie and rho run, i thought to myself - there's no way i can do it. and now 1 year later...i did it!

i was doing ok until around the 1/2 way marker. just before that i found lisa and paolo - the first people i saw in the crowd. after that, i was able to get to archie, mariza, brian, dad and the fam @ the 1/2 way mark, and then i was able to recharge. then thankfully, archie ran with me for a few miles and was able to take my mind off the running. then christine called and told me she was in chinatown @ mile 21, with the other groupies, so i concentrated on getting myself there. it was rough. i didn't know if i'd make it. i had to stop and walk more times in the miles from 17 to 21, than i had in the first 1/2 of the marathon. but somehow i made it. and then i saw the sign. it said in huge capital letters "MYRA". how could i not be motivated? i ran to the sign and the girls holding up the sign, cheered with them and then they all started running with me. rach kept tapping me on the shoulders with those blow up bats, ch carried the sign, and g kept yelling at the crowd to yell my name. then we saw christine and coco, and chris started running too. they kept yelling 'you're doing great!", "you look awesome!". the groupies stopped, but then g offered to run more with me. then seth caught up with us. and g and seth kept me going until mile 25. i can't image that i would have been able to finish if i didn't have g and seth with me. i wanted to walk so much more during those last 5 miles. but they kept encouraging me. then finally we hit mile 25. seth dropped and then g. i made the turn onto roosevelt, and there was my last challenge. that damn hill. it's just plain mean. a lot of people around me started walking. i kept pushin on. i saw the groupies 1 more time. then i turned the corner, and saw archie and richie in the stands. in the next stands were mari, lisa, paolo, and brian. and then....the finish line. i ran as hard as i could. and the next thing i knew...i was a marathoner. i did it!

i know that i couldn't have made it without all the support from my friends and fam, and also from the complete strangers who read the sign on my shirt, "myra. 1st time", and yelled out loud for me. that's what they mean when they say the crowd carries you thru the entire marathon.

so thanks to everyone and anyone who stood along the marathon path and cheered on all the runners. you'll never know how much it meant to all of us.

woohoo!

does this mean i'm athletic?

.less.than.4.

almost, only 3 more days left. woohoo! the big day is almost here. the goal of the year, has almost shown its ugly face. i can't wait to get it over with and i can't wait to enjoy the day itself.

now i just have to get there.

in other news, has anyone noticed how many hot guys there are on tv now? seriously. there are some hotties. some of them are probably younger than me (oh the horror.) but it's like the new crop are full of the hottest hotties i've seen in a while. chad michael murray. josh duhamel. chad michael murray's character's brother on one tree hill. that blond guy on the apprentice. good eye candy.

so jeffie moved out last weekend. sad. end of an era. i've lived with him for about 5 years, total. at least we know we won't never see him again; esp since he's in the wedding. speaking of which, i should probably get back into planning mode. when this marathon is done, mariza and i will need to shop for some paper and decide how we want to make the invitations. hopefully it will be cheaper to make than to order.

3 more days...
