you may have noticed, as this page was loading, that there have been some changes...i widened the main text area, for one. i couldn't take the waste of space any longer. i added a few links of sites i read to the nav bar to the right. and 1 of the bigger items was that i changed my comments code to be that of blogger's official comments function. i used to link to haloscan, since blogger originally did not have a commenting function. but i think something screwy is goin on with haloscan...so i changed over to blogger..thank god they're both free. so if you've made comments here before, they are probably gone now, since those are saved to haloscan's servers, not bloggers...sorry! but that's the way the cookie crumbles...

woke up early this morning for a "long" run. only 4 miles today. this coming week is the start of the 1/2 marathon training, and if anything, i want to do that...so i have to get my ass in shape. after the run, we went home to shower, then took our 1st ride on the bus. i know, after living here almost 3 years now, i have never set foot on a cta bus. i was a bus "snob." but after today, i think i'll take it more often on the weekends, since it's so much faster to get to the beach. went to the beach, watched a play volleyball with m and g and some random guys...then took the bus back, showered, then went to a coworker's bbq...busy busy day...i can't wait to sleep.

my neighborhood has been loud and bright tonight with neighborhood people setting off fireworks. just like i don't like small and fast things (ie rodents or small dogs), i don't like loud things. so as i type this, i've found that i'm being startled a lot. i don't know what's wrong with me, since i already know this fireworks shit has been going on all night.
