.let.there.be.heat.

finally. there's heat in the condo. it must be a record that it only took 3 days to figure out. i didn't even figure it out myself. i had to email one of our neighbors. that's what neighbors are for, i guess. but i swear, we are the dumbest condo owners on the face of the planet. we don't know anything. why don't the builders make a manual, telling you how to work the furnace, water tank, etc...and all of this stuff should be standard. maybe it already is, and i don't know it, but why don't they ever teach this stuff to you in high school or in college.

i sat in on a training class today and it made me realize how good of an education i received. of course, we never really realize the value of things until months, maybe even years, after they happen...but i received a damn good education. that typing class that i thought was worthless in 7th grade? that actually was one of the most useful classes i've taken in my life. and english/language class? the 2nd best. i can read proficiently. and coherently. i may stutter sometimes now, but my vocabulary is better than some 35 year old people out there. i can read the word, "incredulously" and use it in a sentence. those 30 weekly words we had to memorize in 10th grade vocab class? yes, that's the 3rd best class i've ever taken. so small, but so meaningful. the world is a much bigger place than our own little high school worlds where everyone is smart and educated. some people were just born in the wrong area code.

why is there not enough time in the world to read all my magazines?
